In most cases, organisations know what their key issues are and have an idea how to solve them. The role of consultants should be to help build consensus that there is ‘a burning platform’ and to point a way through to feasible action.
Our support for Remploy Interwork, the UK public body sponsored by the Department of Work & Pensions, has involved some focused and detailed analysis of their market place, but possibly our greatest contribution has been to energise the management team to implement a new business model. Our work has helped contribute to the UK Government's efforts to help smooth the pathway to work for disabled people.
